Selling house after failed marriage

My husband and I got married right out of college.

We were way too young.

We were also extremely in-debt due to lots of college loans. Because of a job opportunity, we moved sixteen hours south, shortly after graduation. We were both born and raised in the northeastern part of the country. I always appreciated the change of seasons. I like to snowmobile, snowshoe and ski. I love the changing leaves and fresh vegetables in the fall. I am not a big fan of heat and humidity. I relocated to Jacksonville so that my husband could step into his dream job. This left me struggling to find work. We made a big mistake when we bought a house. With limited finances, we bought a fixer-upper in a questionable neighborhood. I never felt safe in the house. As soon as we moved in, all sorts of things started to go wrong. The roof leaked, the air conditioner quit and the water pump failed. The electrical system was so outdated that we could only run one appliance at a time. I was extremely unhappy and lonely living in Jacksonville. The marriage fell apart within two years. I found out that my husband was taking my share of the mortgage but not making the payments. He wasn’t keeping up with any of our bills. He was spending that money on a girlfriend he’d met at his job. I wanted to get out of the marriage as quickly and painlessly as possible. With the overdue mortgage and endless problems with the house, selling it was going to be difficult. Rather than list it, pay a realtor and deal with the hassle of a traditional sale, I contacted a cash buyer. I found a local, family-owned company with a reputation for reliability. It took a couple of minutes to fill out an online form and answer a few questions. I had an offer within an hour. We closed on the house within ten days.
